So you have been really good with following your TLC-Program. Maybe you had one or two little roadblocks, but generally you are doing well and losing weight. But have you celebrated it and  rewarded yourself for the progress you made already?

Losing weight requires commitment and perserverance, so it is important to celebrate all the success you have already achieved to keep yourself motivated.

-Give yourself some credit

Give yourself some credit when you accomplish a goal. Social media and community pages are great places to share your successes and get support. You will be amazed how good it makes you feel to share what you have achieved and how well people will respond! A good way to do this is to share some before and ‘in progress’ photos to social media and with your Coach!

It is also a fact… When you feel pride in yourself, you will increase your motivation

-Mentor someone

You will be amazed how much it motivates you if you decide to mentor, encourage and support someone else on their Weightloss journey. It is a major motivator to yourself to keep going when you know there is someone else looking up to you and admiring the progress you have already made. And the best way to achieve this is to encourage someone in your group, family, work or friendship circle to also start a TLC Program. It is a personal reward to see someone else achieve success, and it will keep you motivated too!

-Celebrate all positive steps

Remember to celebrate all positive behavior changes and not just reaching a certain number on the scale. You have started walking on a regular basis? This is a positive step… Celebrate it!

You are drinking 8 glasses of water a day… Celebrate this!

-Reward yourself with actual tangible rewards

It is important to pick appropriate rewards. Avoid rewarding yourself with food. Also, avoid rewards that are so expensive you would never buy it, or so insignificant that you would allow yourself to have it anyway.

The following are some good examples of appropriate rewards:

  • Getting a manicure
  • Going to a movie
  • Buying a new running top
  • Taking a cooking class
  • Having a facial
  • Taking a bubble bath
  • Going for a massage
  • Buying that lipstick you have been eyeing
  • Splurging on that special perfume

So why don’t you start celebrating your success right now by bragging on social media about what you have already achieved! You have earned it!
