Why do you want to lose weight?

Is it for stamina? To manage diabetes? To look and feel good? To fit into your favorite clothes? To play with your kids or grandkids without getting out of breath? To look good for a wedding or special event?

For your Health?… Do not forget this is one of the most important motivators you could have at present… Obesity is a major risk factor for a serious Covid-19 outcome, so losing weight for your health should be a priority.

  1. Clearly define your reasons for losing weight: There could be many reasons or one overriding reason. It can be a great motivator to clearly define all the reasons you want to lose weight.
  2. Write them down. This will help you stay committed and motivated to reach your weight loss goals.
  3. Re-visit and re-enforce daily:

Try to read through them daily and use them as a reminder when tempted to stray from your weight loss plans.

Research has shown that people are more successful in achieving their Weightloss goals if their motivation comes from within.
